The singer was born on the 26th of November 1996 at Santa Monica California in the United States of America. She is the child of Vincenzo Barba, her father and Valerie Barba. When she was six, her family and moved to Point Pleasant New Jersey. The school she attended was Red Bank Catholic High School, New Jersey. The schooling continued through Catholic University where she earned the degree of bachelor of architecture. Her first violin lessons began when she was four years old, and she was known by the name Violin Girl. The name she was given by her first name because of her performance. Her neighborhood kids were also taught to play violin by her. She sang Free from 1976 in the auditions for American Idol's sixth season when she was the age of 19.
